Sunblink’s cozy life simulator Hello Kitty Island Adventure has sold 500,000 copies just 30 days after launching on PC and Nintendo Switch platforms.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure first debuted on iOS devices in July 2023, but was exclusively available through Apple Arcade subscription service rather than as an individual purchase. The game expanded to PC and Nintendo Switch in January 2025, where players could buy it outright for the first time.

For those unfamiliar with the title, Hello Kitty Island Adventure brings Sanrio’s beloved characters into a life simulation experience somewhat similar to Animal Crossing. Players explore and restore a mysterious island while forming friendships with characters from the Hello Kitty universe.

The game offers more diverse environments than some similar titles, featuring various biomes including a volcano, underwater depths, and even a floating island in the clouds. As per the developers, these different regions provide varied gameplay experiences and exploration opportunities.

As expected in the life simulation genre, players can collect and prepare numerous recipes, craft items, and renovate cabins across their island to attract new residents. These activities not only customize the gameplay experience but can unlock additional storylines involving the island’s inhabitants.

Hello Kitty Island Adventure distinguishes itself by combining traditional life simulation elements with adventure components like exploration and puzzle-solving, all presented with Sanrio’s characteristic charm and aesthetic.

Currently, the game is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and through Apple Arcade subscription. Sunblink has confirmed that a PlayStation version is in development, meanwhile, a physical Deluxe Edition is scheduled for March 25.
